Graduate Student Internship Program

Columbia Global Center | Africa in Nairobi

Columbia Global Centers | Africa will continue to facilitate the existing partnerships with the MDG Center, which brings students enrolled in the Masters in Development Practice to the MV sites, as well as students from Mailman, SIPA, and the Medical School currently serving as interns working closely with The MDG Center’s researchers.  It also aims to develop new collaborations with various schools, and is in preliminary discussions including; a partnership with the student group Engineers Without Borders, to link students studying engineering with local NGOs and institutions seeking to address issues of water, sanitation, renewable energy, and infrastructure; and, a partnership with SIPA’s students completing their Capstone Workshops, in which the students work in small consulting teams with an African-based NGO or institution on a substantive, policy-oriented project.
