Oil, Natural Gas, and the Future of Energy Markets

Columbia Global Centers | Mumbai invites you to a Panel Discussion where leading experts from Columbia University’s Center on Global Energy Policy will  provide an overview of energy and climate policy after the U.S. elections, share their research findings on the latest trends in global oil and natural gas markets, and discuss implications for countries like India.
 
Jason Bordoff is the Founding Director of the Center on Global Energy Policy and Professor of Professional Practice in the School of International and Public Affairs, Columbia University.  Prior to joining Columbia as faculty, Mr. Bordoff was Special Assistant to President Obama and Senior Director for Energy and Climate Change on the Staff of the National Security Council. Considered one of the world's top energy policy experts, he previously held senior policy positions on the White House's National Economic Council and Council on Environmental Quality.
 
Antoine Halff is Senior Fellow and Director of the Global Oil Markets Research Program at the Center on Global Energy Policy, Columbia University.  His career spans the worlds of government, international organizations, consulting, Wall Street, higher education and the media. Prior to joining Columbia, he served as Chief Oil Analyst at the International Energy Agency and was editor of two of its most authoritative publications, the monthly Oil Market Report and the annual Medium-Term Oil Market Report.  Mr. Halff is the co-editor of Energy Poverty: Global Challenges and Local Solutions, which Bill Clinton called “a must-read for anyone serious about creating meaningful solutions to end poverty.”
 
Tim Boersma is a Senior Research Scholar and Director of Global Natural Gas Markets at the Center on Global Energy Policy, Columbia University.  He is the author of several publications on energy including Natural Gas Markets in Europe: Lessons from the EU and the United States.  Before starting his career in research, Mr. Boersma spent five years in the private sector, working as a corporate counsel to the electricity production sector in the Netherlands.
