This project establishes a Columbia University Summer Institute in Middle East/North African Studies (MENA) as a collaborative effort between two Columbia Global Centers: Middle East (Amman) and Europe (Paris).
This project will support efforts to create a study-abroad opportunity in the Middle East in which Columbia undergraduates would be integrated with students from the Middle East region to study democracy and constitutional engineering, as well as empirical methods for social science.
Responding to President Bollinger’s call to expand the campus conversation
about Equal Justice, this proposal, Digital Justice, harnesses the emerging field
of “Digital Humanities” towards critically engaging with questions of digital
publics, free speech, censorship and technologies of dissent.
Covering Religion is a three-year research project that meets three key goals—
through three corresponding components—necessary for the further development
of the emerging discipline of media and religion.
