MDEP | Access to Achievement is a collaborative, five-year demonstration project of the Center for Sustainable Development, The Earth Institute, Columbia University, New York and housed at the Columbia Global Centers | South Asia, Mumbai.
The proposed activity brings together an interdisciplinary group of scientists from public health, atmospheric chemistry, and atmospheric transport modeling to explore specific topics and mechanisms for collaboration.
The research program is based on a policy intervention, in which we partner with local stakeholders to improve
learning outcomes in India—a setting in which most primary school students do not learn basic skills.
The proposed project seeks to build on the existing network of Columbia University’s Global Health Center (CUGC) in Mumbai in order to cultivate partnerships between faculty at the Mailman School of Public Health (MSPH) and local public health partners, and develop student field practica in India.
