COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER, COLUMBIA GLOBAL CENTERS | MUMBAI

Location: Mumbai

Duties & Responsibilities:

Working closely with the Director of the Columbia Global Centers | Mumbai, the Communications Officer is responsible for the following activities:

  • Designing the Communications strategy for the Center’s  programs with the programs team and managing the process of delivery
  • Managing the production of the Center’s annual report and brochures
  • Maintaining and updating the Center’s website
  • Publicizing the Center’s programs on social media
  • Writing press materials and managing press and media outreach for covering the Center’s programs
  • Designing and editing the quarterly newsletter of the Center
  • Managing invitations and outreach using the membership list of the Center
  • Designing flyers, brochures, and publicity materials for the Center’s programs
  • Participating in calls with other program staff across the Columbia Global Centers network
  • Performing other duties as required to meet the goals and mission of the Center and the Global Centers network
  • Traveling on occasion to advance the goals of the Center

Competencies/Attributes:

  • Designing the Communications strategy for the Center’s  programs with the programs team and managing the process 
  • Work experience in Mumbai as a communications professional with knowledge of media and media connections is essential.  A minimum of 5 years of work experience required
  • Experience with managing communications for program events such as conferences, workshops, exhibitions, public lectures is essential
  • College/University education.  Post-graduate degree preferred
  • Expertise in crafting and delivering messages to diverse stakeholders on the programs of the Center
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English required
  • Good technical skills and ability to engage with print and social media for program outreach
  • Ability to work responsibly and collaboratively in an academic setting
  • A creative individual with skills in web design, editing tools, video, and photography would be an asset

ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGER, COLUMBIA GLOBAL CENTERS | MUMBAI

Location: Mumbai

Duties & Responsibilities:

Working closely with and reporting to the Director of Columbia Global Centers | Mumbai (CGCM), the Administration Manager is responsible for the following:
  • Preparing and maintaining staff contracts and benefits
  • Assisting in recruitment and hiring
  • Coordinating, drafting, and managing contracts of service providers and vendors
  • Overseeing the work of the finance officer in ensuring statutory compliances and audits
  • Working with the Director to prepare organizational budgets and analytical charts
  • Supervising the security and upkeep of the office facility and office assets
  • Participating in monthly Administrative calls and travelling for CGCM work when required
Competencies and Qualifications Required:
  • A senior person with at least 10-15 years of work experience in Mumbai in administration and management in a reputable organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • A person with high levels of honesty, professionalism, discretion, and people-management skills
  • A solution-oriented person who can undertake diverse tasks, understand key aspects of the work comprehensively, and pay close attention to details
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • A person who is able to work responsibly and collaboratively
