The Paris Center: A New Year Brings New Programming

January 28, 2016

For one evening, the cultural partner associations of the Paris Center came together to showcase their Spring 2016 programming. The Arts Arena, Textes & Voix, La Dive Note, Tschann Libraire, and La Muse du Parnasse have a full calendar of events coming up at the Center, with concerts, readings, lectures, and much more.

As part of the evening, the audience received a preview of the events to come, with musical performances from instrumentalists including Helène Tysman, Nicolas Stavy, Etienne Espagne and Guillaume Effler. The diversity of the presentations was shown in readings by actors Marie-Christine Barrault and Nicolas Pignon, regular performers for Textes & Voix.

Presented by La Dive Note, Tysman will give a concert on Saturday, February 6, performing a line-up focused on Maurice Ravel’s works, including Pavane pour une infante défunte as well as his Menuet Antique

Before his own performance, violinist Etienne Espagne discussed La Muse du Parnasse’s spring program, with their upcoming concert on Friday, February 5, where alto Clement Batrel-Genin, oboist Paul-Edouard Hindley, and violinists Clara Jaszczyszyn, Guillaume Effler, and Espagne himself will perform pieces by Haydn, Schumann and Mozart.

Founder and Artistic Director of The Arts Arena, Margery Arent Safir, also presented their program calendar, including a Feb. 9 concert  with The Curtis Institute of Music, featuring baritone Allen Boxer in February, as well as a recital featuring soprano Evanna Chiew at the end of March.

The evening concluded with a performance by pianist Andrei Vieru of the second movement of Ravel’s Gaspard de la nuit.
