Innovation Hub

The Innovation Hub is an initiative of Columbia University, led by the Fu Foundation School of Engineering. Launched in 2015, in a partnership between the School of Engineering, Columbia Global Centers | Rio de Janeiro, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro's Institute for Graduate Studies and Research in Engineering , and the city of Rio de Janeiro.

The initiative will engage with the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), and others of the University’s 16 schools, and will spur technological growth and research advances in critical areas such as sustainability, sanitation, data science, smart cities, and precision medicine.

 

 

 

 

Students competing on the "Rio Columbia Design Challenge I: Urban Water"

 

The goal is to engage in a variety of research and develop solutions for urban problems. The hub will be a place for exciting new collaborations between University faculty, researchers, and students with key Brazilian industry leaders, scholars, students, and researchers.
