Fabiano joined the Columbia Global Center in February 2013. He is an alumnus of the Youth Ambassadors Program sponsored by the American Embassy in Brazil.
Fabiano graduated from Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana, where he pursued a degree in Political Science and Business Administration. During his time in the U.S., he had the opportunity to work at the Institute for Peace Studies, a renowned think-tank dedicated to international conflict management. He extended his studies of political science and Arabic through academic exchange at the University of Jordan in Amman, Jordan. While in Amman, Fabiano also worked at the Public Information Office at UNRWA (the United Nations Works and Relief Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East).
Upon the conclusion of his studies and work in the Middle East, Fabiano returned to Brazil to lead a start-up dedicated to fostering U.S. higher education among talented Brazilian students. The Rio Leadership Institute was founded by alumni from Harvard, Princeton and the University of Pennsylvania, and the Prep Program today is structured as one of the initiatives of the Fundação Estudar in Brazil. Fabiano coordinated the Prep Program, a national mentoring program for high school students and was based out of the EducationUSA office headquarters at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. Before transitioning to the Columbia Global Center, Fabiano also led a scholarship program to selective boarding schools in the U.S., a shared effort among the American Embassy in Brazil, the EducationUSA network and the Rio Leadership Institute.
