Sanchit Waray is a Senior Program Officer at the Columbia Global Centers | Mumbai, working in the area of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and managing the Urban Works Innovation Challenge project.
Sanchit has more than six years of experience in researching technology and policy aspects of innovation ecosystems, renewable energy systems, sustainable materials and chemicals, among others. He has also been an entrepreneur for two years, and has had brief stints at Saint-Gobain and Battelle previously. Previously, he worked at the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW). At CEEW, he was part of an initiative called I-DESIRE, which aimed to leverage innovation and entrepreneurship in clean energy to improve rural incomes in India’s agriculture and non-farm sectors.
Sanchit received a Master of Science in Energy Science, Technology, and Policy at Carnegie Mellon University, U.S. and Bachelor of Technology in Polymer and Surface Engineering from Institute of Chemical Technology (formerly UDCT), Mumbai, India.
