Udita Chaturvedi is the Senior Communications Officer at Columbia Global Centers | Mumbai.
After starting her career as a journalist in 2013, Udita soon moved to the development sector as a communications specialist for non profit organisations like Digital Empowerment Foundation and Dasra. She has also been a Research Consultant with the International Telecommunications Union and a Storytelling & Advocacy Consultant for The World YWCA.
In these roles, she has worked on various media, research and visual documentation projects to champion for youth empowerment and/or highlight the socio-behavioural impact of digital inclusion and the effects of digital exclusion. Her work has allowed her to travel extensively in rural India to document stories of change and best practises. Udita has also contributed to the design and development of digital literacy toolkits for first-generation computer users, and trained key public stakeholders in media information literacy.
Udita is a trained journalist with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Delhi, and a Post-Graduate Diploma from the Indian Institute of Journalism & New Media in Bangalore.
