On August 16, Columbia Global Centers | Beijing invites you to a dialogue on teaching foreign languages at the world-class university in the U.S. Professor Lening Liu from Columbia University and Professor Chih-p’ing Chou from Princeton University will be sharing their insights and experiences.


  • Lening Liu is the Professor of East Asian Languages and Cultures and Confucius Institute Director of Chinese Language Pedagogy. He also directs the Chinese Language Program and serves as the co-director of the Certificate Program of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages.
  • Chih-p'ing Chou is the Professor of East Asian Studies, specializes in modern Chinese intellectual history and late Ming literature, and director of Chinese Language Program at Princeton University. His book, Hu Shi’s Thought and Modern China (Beijing, 2012), has been selected as one of the best 100 publications of the year by several major media organizations in China.
