Columbia Global Centers | Mumbai invites you to participate in a workshop led by Professor William Gaudelli that aims to arrive at guidelines for making the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (2015-30) practicable in diverse educational settings through a sharing of tools and global practices. It will explore ways in which young students can be engaged in learning about social problems and acting on them. Participants comprising of middle to secondary school educators and civil society stake holders will jointly address the question of citizenship - what it means to be a citizen in an interdependent world and what methods are effective for inculcating responsible actions to address the challenges facing global societies.
Professor William Gaudelli is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Arts and Humanities at Teachers College, Columbia University. His research areas include global citizenship education and teacher education/ development. His third book, Global Citizenship Education: Everyday Transcendence was published in 2016 and offers an analysis of global citizenship education in various locales globally. He is a co-founder of the Global Competence Certificate Program which provides blended professional development for educators.
