Global Education Connection (GEC) Chinese Students Visit to Nairobi Center

A group of Chinese students from the Global Education Connection (GEC), who are actively involved in the China-Africa-US initiative will visit Kenya in July 2017. This program was initiated by the Columbia alumni and has successfully placed many young Chinese students at the forefront of global development. It has also helped to improve their awareness of globalization and improved on their skills to tackle global issues. The initiative seeks to connect the world by conducting research projects that are of relevance to the United States, Africa and China. The projects involve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

The students will visit Kenya in two groups.

First group - July 9th - 15th, 2017

Second group - July 24th - 30th 2017.

Students agenda:

- To visit a self-help community group especially one focused on women empowerment within the sustainable development context.

- To visit an organization whose business operations are based and founded on sustainable development

- To talk to the Columbia Global Centers Nairobi technical staff who mainly work on the 1 Million Community Health Workers (CHW) campaign.
