On December 22, Columbia Global Centers | Beijing invites you to the first panel discussion of Columbia Beijing Education Panel Series, discussing culture difference, multicultural environment, and cultural competence. Speakers will also present on the latest trend of admissions interview and tips to nail the interview!

 

Speakers

Nancy Shi TC '16

M.A. in International Educational Development at Teachers College, Columbia University, Member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), Member of the Independent Education Consultant Association (IECA), Research Assistant at the Center on Chinese Education (CoCE), Teachers College Columbia University.

Nancy has always been committing to exploring the development of global citizenship education and learning assessment. In the past few years, she has worked in the Center on Chinese Education at Teachers College Columbia University, Parsons School of Design, Institute of International Education (IIE), Save the Children and Harvard SEED for Social Innovation. She has worked students from all over the world and gained rich experience in experiential/entrepreneurial program design and implementation. Through the focus on the process of learning as well as on the tangible measurements of attainment, Nancy hopes to create an educational ecosystem that brings out each student's unique voices and empowers all students to connect together for the common good.

 

Guy Sivan CC '05

Guy was born in Israel, grew up in Hong Kong, went to the US for college and has lived in Beijing for over 10 years. Guy graduated Summa Cum Laude from Columbia University with a dual Computer Science and Electrical Engineering degree. Since his first startup in 2005, Guy has been serial entrepreneur in China building several companies. In 2010, he sold his third startup's core technology to a publicly listed company. Guy Currently works as co-founder of Vericant, a company that helps US schools better understand their Chinese applicants through on-demand video interviews.
