Columbia Global Centers | Mumbai invites students, professionals and aligned practitioners working in the field of finance for a seminar led by Rupal J. Bhansali, Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager for International and Global Equities at Ariel Investments, and Advisory Board Member of the Ira M. Millstein Center at Columbia Law School.  She is the author of the recently published book, Non-Consensus Investing: Being Right When Everyone Else Is Wrong (Columbia University Press 2019).  

Drawing from her professional and personal learnings, the book addresses Ms. Bhansali’s journey from Dalal Street to Wall Street, overcoming the odds and succeeding in the male-dominated world of finance.  Based on her wide experience of investing in fifty markets around the globe, Bhansali discusses the principles of investing to achieve higher returns with lower risks and offers advice on breaking the glass ceiling in the wealth management profession.  The seminar will address these themes, provide critical lessons on financial investment, and offer recommendations to help women excel in this profession.

Rupal J. Bhansali is the Chief Investment Officer And Portfolio Manager Of International And Global Equity Strategies for Ariel Investments. She has worked at leading firms, such as Soros Fund Management, Oppenheimer Capital, and MacKay Shields. She has been recognized by Forbes and Barron’s as a leading figure in value investing and is a frequent guest on Bloomberg, CNBC, and Fox Business. Rupal Bhansali is the distinguished recipient of the 100 Women in Finance North America Industry Leadership Award, bestowed in 2019.
