Jacques Schiffrin: A Publisher in Exile, from Pléiade to Pantheon

Join author Amos Reichman and SIPA lecturer Anya Schiffrin in conversation about Reichman's biography of Jacques Schiffrin (1892-1950), the French book publisher who launched the Pléiade Collection in 1932 and then was forced to leave in 1941 where he helped the founders of Pantheon Books. They will discuss French culture between the wars, the generation of exiled publishers, and links between New York and Paris. Anya Schiffrin is a senior lecturer at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and the director of the Technology, Media and Communications specialization.

Amos Reichman, who studied at Columbia University, is a historian and faculty member at Sciences Po. He is the author of Jacques Schiffrin, Un éditeur en exil
