Public Conversation with Columbia Students in Istanbul | Summer 2016
Date and Time: Wednesday, July 27, 2016 | 18:30-20:00
Location: Columbia Global Centers | Istanbul
Columbia Global Centers | Istanbul hosts a public conversation gathering undergraduate and graduate Columbia students currently residing in Istanbul who are serving in the humanitarian field and conducting archival research. Columbia students from SIPA and Barnard are actively involved in the civil society and humanitarian landscape through various internship placements and voluntary work in international and national organizations, including UNICEF, UN Women, Kiron University and Small Projects Istanbul. Several doctoral students from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences are conducting archival research on different aspects of Ottoman history.
Several students will spend the summer of 2016 in Istanbul, while some will spend the entire year here. During the networking event, students will share their experiences in the city so far and exchange information regarding the efforts they've been involved with. The Center will host Columbia students and alumni as well as a larger audience in an interactive and participatory setting.
