On March 16, Columbia Global Centers | Beijing invites Ms. Maxine Griffith, Senior Advisor to the President, and Mr. Tom Wright to a public lecture on architecture, urban planning, and sustainability. Professor Griffith will present an introduction on Columbia's Manhattanville campus, a new campus designed to bring together a diversity of academic disciplines to address the great questions facing our society while welcoming the wider community to experience a shared space for civic life.
In the meantime, Mr. Tom Wright (M.S. UP '95), president of the Regional Plan Association, will present a summary of the Regional Plan Association's Fourth Regional Plan. Since the 1920s, Regional Plan Association, an independent civic group, has been a trusted voice for research and advocacy to improve the prosperity, infrastructure, sustainability and quality of life of the New York-New Jersey-Connecticut metropolitan region. The Fourth Regional Plan is a blueprint for our region's shared prosperity, livability, sustainability, and good governance for the next generation.
Moreover, a GSAPP student group is invited to share interim conclusions of their work in Wenzhou, China on the "Global Campus".
