Roundtable: The future of art and culture institutions - Discussing new trends and models for Brazil

Seeking to strengthen the dialogue in regards to current models of management and funding of arts and culture, a sector that has faced innumerous challenges regarding investment, governance and professionalization in Brazil and abroad, Columbia Global Centers | Rio de Janeiro will host a roundtable discussion with leaders of the main cultural institutions in Brazil to address these issues, and to discuss an effective and sustainable path forward. Moderated by Vishakha Desai (Columbia University Senior Advisor to the President for Global Affairs and former CEO of the Asian Society) and Adriana Rattes (former Secretary of Culture to the State of Rio), the event will create a platform to engage those leaders on a fruitful discussion that aims to drawn global examples and propose policy and institutional changes in the Brazilian model. Institutions such as Moreira Salles Institute, Rio’s Museum of Art, Museum of Tomorrow and Rio World Heritage Institute will be joining the roundtable.
