Zainab Salbi was named “One of the 25 Women Changing the World,” by People, one of the “100 Leading Global Thinkers” by Foreign Policy Magazine, and #1 on the Most Influential Arab Women list by Arabian Business. The bestselling author and TV host was Founder of Women for Women International at the age of 23. Under her leadership as the organization’s CEO from 1993 until 2011, Women for Women International grew from helping 30 women upon its inception to helping more than 420,000 women and distributing more than 100 million dollars to women survivors of wars.
Zainab is the Executive Editor and Host of #MeToo, Now What? on PBS, THE ZAINAB SALBI PROJECT, an original series with AOL and Huffington Post, and The Nida’a Show with TLC Arabia. Her books include Between Two Worlds: Escape from Tyranny: Growing Up in the Shadow of Saddam, The Other Side of War, and If You Knew Me You Would Care. She is currently the Editor-at-Large at Women in the World in association with The New York Times.
