Columbia Global Centers | Mumbai invites you for a presentation on January 7, 2019, by Professor Ibrahim Odeh, Director of Global Leaders in Construction Management at Columbia University.

While construction may be booming in terms of volume in places like India, the construction sector worldwide has faced severe productivity challenges during the last two decades. One of the main root causes of this low change in sectoral productivity is associated with a limited adoption of new technologies, as well as the absence of effective coordination in all processes involved in the construction process. The presentation will be will be based on the following thematic lines: 

  • Nature of the construction industry
  • Characteristics of the construction industry and internal challenges of the sector
  • Mega trends that will redefine the global construction industry  
  • Proposals to transform the construction industry
  • Examples of two of the best practices globally to positively transform the construction industry.
