Speeding up Solvency: Bankruptcy Reform in India

Columbia Global Centers | Mumbai invites you for a workshop with leading policymakers and business leaders on January 17, 2019, on the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code of India, 2016. The workshop will cover where bankruptcy reform stands now, how the US Bankruptcy Code and the reformed code in India compare, opportunities and challenges for corporate borrowers, ratings agency, banks, and bidders of troubled assets, and lessons from cases already adjudicated under the reform.

Injeti Srinivas (Secretary to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs Government of India), Suresh Sundaresan (Chase Manhattan Bank Foundation, Professor of Financial Institutions, and Director, India Business Initiative Columbia Business School), Ed Morrison (Charles Evans Gerber Professor of Law, Columbia Law School and Co-Director, Richman Center for Business, Law and Public Policy, Columbia University), Madhasudan Sahoo (Chairman, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India), Rajnish Kumar (CEO, State Bank of India), Yash Rana(Partner,  Goodwin Procter), and Narendra Madhusudan Murkumbi (Co-founder, Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd) are scheduled to speak at the event.
