Columbia Global Centers | Rio de Janeiro, FGV EBAPE / CEIPE, the Lemann Foundation, and Columbia University’s Teachers College will host the event TEACHER TRAINING AND BNCC (Brazil's National Common Core) on Tuesday, March 13, to discuss the challenges faced in implementing a new common core and teacher training program in Brazil.
The event will feature Susan Fuhrman, President of Columbia’s Teachers College, Claudia Costin, Director of CEIPE (the Center for Excellence and Innovation of Education Policies), as well as many other key figures in the field of education in Brazil and around the world.
Moderated by the Brazilian journalist Fábio Takahashi (Folha de São Paulo) and Camila Pereira, Director of the Lemann Foundation, the event’s panels will cover topics related to initial and continuing education, BNCC's approval as a revolutionary movement, and the development of socio-emotional skills in teachers.
The event also celebrates Columbia Global Centers | Rio de Janeiro's 5th anniversary and launches the first Columbia Global Dialogues, a series of events dedicated to promoting the exchange of knowledge on issues of extreme relevance for Brazil in a global context.
