Following on the success of two five-week intensive Television Writing courses held in 2014, the TV Writing Intensive in Rio will train both beginning and professional writers in the art and craft of writing for television. Applications for the two courses will open today, November 18, 2015 (details below)
The Columbia Global Centers | Rio de Janeiro and Columbia University School of the Arts forged a partnership to bring this exciting program to Brazil once again, with the generous sponsorship of RioFilme. The new shorter, more intensive format will meet the demands of the Brazilian market, while maintaining Columbia University School of the Arts’ standards of excellence.
Taught by Professors of Film from Columbia University School of the Arts, the Television Writing Intensives offer an introductory workshop, January 6-8, 2016, and an advanced workshop, January 11-13, 2016. Each workshop will have around 15 students, providing for individual script advising in addition to the main course of study. Novelist, Screenwriter, and Playwright, Trey Ellis, Professor of Film at Columbia University School of the Arts in New York, will be the primary instructor for the workshops.
The entire program will be in English, so fluency in the language is mandatory. All assignments should also be written in English.
