On June 13, Columbia Global Centers | Beijing invites you to a panel discussion on the documentary Searching for Dean Lung and a public lecture entitled "Uncover the Life of Dean Lung".
This event is also part of the 2019 Columbia Beijing Summer Arts and Humanities Series.
Open the scroll of history, you will find many names connecting China and Columbia: HU Shih, FENG Youlan, XU Dishan, JIANG Menglin, XU Zhimuo, TAO Xingzhi, WU Jianxiong, and etc.
But the very person Dean Lung who, allegedly, laid the first brick of this long-lasting bridge between China and Columbia, is nowhere to be found.
Who is this "Dean Lung" that contributed to the fund for Chinese studies at Columbia? How is he connected to the Dean Lung Professorship at the University?
This event will help you to find out.
