UNICEF's Middle East and North Africa Region COVID-19 2020 report estimates that approximately 11 million full-time jobs were lost in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the OECD, the socio-economic fallout of the crisis are particularly severe for women in the MENA region. As existing gender inequalities in economic growth are exacerbated, women are experiencing greater regression in employment and instability in income generation. This webinar seeks to highlight women’s current experiences in the Jordanian economy and promote a rethinking of women’s roles. Panelists will discuss how to maximize women’s impact and resilience in Jordan’s long-term recovery.
