On August 30, Columbia Global Centers | Beijing was honored to invite our Center's Faculty Advisory Committee member Dr. Lucy Calkins, Richard Robinson Professor in Children's Literature at Columbia University Teachers College, to share her perspectives and experiences on how to build schoolwide excellence in English reading and writing in the K-12 classroom. Dr. Calkins was joined by Chinese senior academic advisors and school administrators to exchange opinions on the effectiveness of the English teacher training program and the demands for innovative pedagogies and teaching strategies to equip students with robust literacy skills.
The webinar was live on Zoom and Bilibili. More than 2800 participants joined the live stream and engaged actively on both platforms.
