On June 4th, Columbia Global Centers | Beijing supported a conversation between Thomas Hatch, professor at Teachers College, Columbia University, and Director of the National Center for Restructuring Education, Schools, and Teaching (NCREST) and Yinuo Li, Co-founder of ETU Education. In this one-hour exchange, based on her previous experience in founding the ETU School, Ms. Li expressed her concerns about the problems she observed in the Chinese and American education systems and suggested ways to build truly innovative schools that cultivate students in a holistic way. Prof. Hatch also shared his experience and insights gained through educating his children.
The webinar was live on Zoom and Chinese streaming platforms Xiaoe-Tech and Bilibili. In total, about 700 audiences joined the live stream and engaged actively on all platforms, and asked valuable questions.
