The 2nd Annual ‘No-Boundaries’ International Art Exhibition Pre-Exhibition was successfully held at Columbia Global Centers | Beijing

Co-sponsored by Columbia Global Centers | Beijing and No-Boundaries International Art Exhibition Committee, the 2nd Annual ‘No-Boundaries’ International Art Exhibition Pre-Exhibition opening ceremony was successfully held on May 28 at Columbia Global Centers | Beijing.

Co-sponsored by Columbia Global Centers | Beijing and No-Boundaries International Art Exhibition Committee, the 2nd Annual ‘No-Boundaries’ International Art Exhibition Pre-Exhibition opening ceremony was successfully held on May 28 at Columbia Global Centers | Beijing.

Contemporary artists DU Jianqi and SHEN Jingdong served as the curators for this exhibition, and it was their first time to work for youths and children, indicating their expectation for education and charity of arts.

200 individual pieces out of 1500 were selected on display. Artists from different age groups drew on the same topic – a grain of rice – to present their understanding and interpretation.

In the meantime, 10 artworks by children with autism or disabilities and 20 by children of migrant workers were included in the exhibition. No-Boundaries hopes to encourage all children to create arts and care about others.

‘No Boundaries’ collects artworks from  young people around the globe with love of art  and encourage them to create on the same topic and making a sound regarding on the same issue. Through this way, the ‘No Boundaries’ aims to achieve its mission – Art has no boundary in the world.

More than 400 people attended the opening ceremony. Members of the No-Boundaries International Art Exhibition U.S. Committee, including YAN Baitong, ZHANG Yi-an, ZHANG Bowen and fellow members, congratulated on the success of the event through a video and expressed their hopes to meet selected students with their artworks soon in New York.

PENG Xin, Chief Finance Officer at Columbia Global Centers, Columbia University in the City of New York; DU Jianqi and SHEN Jingdong, representatives of ‘No Boundaries’ International Art Exhibition Evaluation Committee; Professor ZHEN Wei, Associate Dean at Beijing Normal University School of Arts & Communication; ZHENG Hong, President of Dandelion School; Leo YANG, President of Columbia University Teachers College Students Associate; LI Yan, ‘No-Boundaries’ advisor, and LIU Yadi, Columbia University Doctor of Education in Art Education awarded prizes.

The Pre-Exhibition is on display at Columbia Global Centers | Beijing from May 31st to Jun 3rd. Students who haven’t registered for the exhibition in Beijing can still register for international evaluation by Jun 15th. The final exhibition will be held on Aug 5th at the U.N. Headquarters in New York and William Paterson University Center for Chinese Art / Chinese Art Centre in New York.
