In March Columbia alumni visited Parque Andino Juncal, a family-run protected area in the Andes Mountains, near Portillo Ski Resort, for a guided tour and discussion on water resources and private conservation. Park administrator, Tomás Dinges (JS '08), led the visit. It was the first outdoor activity this year of the Columbia Alumni Club of Chile.
Those who arrived the night before had a clear view of a sky filled with stars. The next day they set off in warm weather and a few clouds for a hike along the Juncal River. This is the route to the Juncal Glacier, at the clean headwaters of the Aconcagua River Valley.
