Maria Jose Abud (SIPA’15) has been appointed Undersecretary of Chile’s Ministry of Women and Gender Equality.
She had previously worked at the Ministry of Women and Gender Equality as head of the Studies Division from March 2018 to June 2020. From July of last year, she served as head of the Social Policies Division of the Undersecretary of Social Evaluation, belonging to the Ministry of Social Development.
Last year Abud participated in the webinar “Gender-Based Violence: The Other Pandemic,” hosted by the Santiago and Rio Centers in conjunction with Columbia’s Institute for Latin American Studies (ILAS).
