Alumni Spotlight: Gracia Dalgalarrando Receives APEC Award for Most Innovative Business Model

Gracia Dalgalarrando, an alumna of Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs (MPA ’15) and founder of WoomUp, recently traveled to National Taipei University of Technology (Taipei Tech) to participate in the 2018 Asia-Pacific Youth Forum on Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Dalgalarrando joined a panel highlighting female entrepreneurs who have made significant contributions to APEC’s member economies in the digital age. She shared insights about WoomUp, a platform designed to foster mentorship networks among women. WoomUp’s app, now available on mobile devices, boasts over 5,000 members, reflecting its growing impact.

In recognition of her innovative approach, Dalgalarrando received the APEC award for Most Innovative Business Model in Vietnam in 2017. Her participation at the forum underscored the role of digital innovation in empowering women and advancing entrepreneurial ecosystems across the Asia-Pacific region.
