Barnard Alumnae Gathering at the Beijing Center

On July 7, 27 Barnard alumnae participated in a gathering event hosted by Columbia Global Centers | Beijing. Four invited alumnae representatives spoke about their memories at Barnard College and shared their experiences working in different business and workplace.

The most popular topics of the discussion included preferred courses, the working experience both in the U.S. and in China, club activities, and life in New York City. Amanda Ju '15 highly praised how Barnard faculty encouraged and pushed her forward to the academia of art history. Davya Zeng '19 talked about why she became a double major student in Economics and Film Study as well as how Barnard had driven her to make such adecision. Julia Qian '15, former chair of the SGA, shared the difficulties she once met and how she overcame the hardships with the other alumnae. She also encouraged people to embrace the challenge. As she said, "there is no cost to failure at Barnard." Last but not least, Jessica Zhang '18 recommended that students should try as much as possible when they're at Barnard.

At the end of the event, there was a networking session where alumnae talked in person and shared their best memories about Barnard College.
