On July 21, Columbia Global Centers | Beijing hosted a New Columbian Welcome Reception. Jackson Tse (CC’15) addressed a group of incoming undergraduate students and their parents. Drawing upon his past experience as a transfer student and as a representative of Columbia’s student council, Jackson discussed ways in which students could profit from and contribute to Columbia’s vibrant campus life. He furthermore emphasized that the undergraduate experience is about exploration – about taking risks and opening yourself up – and highlighted the need to form connections with fellow peers and professors. He shared that his desire to give back to Columbia is motivated by the desire to “pay it forward,” and the ability to meet the super talented students Columbia accepts each year.
