Beijing Information Session for the Dual BA Program between Columbia University and Sciences Po

October 14, 2018

On October 14, Columbia Global Centers | Beijing hosted a Beijing Information Session for the Dual BA Program between Columbia University and Sciences Po. The information session, led by Vice Dean Curtis Rodgers of School of General Studies and Associate Dean Jessica Sarles-Dinsick, covered important details about the Program.

The Dual BA Program between Columbia University and Sciences Po offers a global undergraduate educational experience—a program with an international character not only in its academic coursework but also in its practical application.

Students will begin their studies by spending two years at one of three Sciences Po campuses—Le Havre, Menton, or Reims—each devoted to a specific cultural focus. After two years, students will matriculate at Columbia University School of General Studies in New York City to complete the interdisciplinary social sciences curriculum.

Upon successful completion of the program, students earn two bachelor's degrees in four years, one from Sciences Po and one from the Columbia University School of General Studies, and will be guaranteed admission to a graduate program at the flagship Sciences Po campus in Paris.

"We're thrilled to be here at the Beijing Center to speak to the value of the Dual BA program and the education opportunities we provide to students from all over the world," said Vice Dean Rodgers.

Jeff Niu, who recently graduated from the Dual BA program in 2016, was also invited to share his experiences at Columbia and Sciences Po. Jeff said the Dual BA program is incredibly special and was indeed the best four years in his life.

"If you are somebody who doesn't like to be stretched and to be pushed outside of your comfort zone, this is probably not the program for you because you are constantly being challenged to do that," said Jeff. "But this is what makes a pretty valuable graduate in our era. Even though we feel a little bit lost at times, we all came out the program and we are able to function very highly in our respective careers, which applies to all Dual BA students."

More than 50 prospective students and their parents attended the information session with more than 102,000 people watched the event online. For more information about the program, please click here.
