Following the announcement of a series of contingency transfers to federal universities this year and a 9% loss in the 2020 education budget, Minister Abraham Weintraub announced this week plans to hire higher education teachers from the CLT (Consolidation of Labor Laws) regime, in order to remedy the Ministry of Education's financial problems.

On Thursday, he again defended the idea and said that teachers are a "heavy weigh" for universitie's finances. But contrary to what he had previously suggested, he said new contracts will be made through CLT.

GLOBO listened to experts to comment on the minister's proposal to change the model of the Single Legal Regime (RJU), which guarantees career stability, for the public-sector employees.
