In mid-January, Dylan Possamaï, assistant professor of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at Columbia University, travelled to Santiago to meet a longtime collaborator, Alejandro Jofré, principal researcher at the Center for Mathematical Modelling at Universidad de Chile. The two researchers have been working together since 2015 on questions linked to stochastic optimal control and contract theory, with applications in energy markets and energy production, co-advising one PhD student. During this trip, they visited the Columbia Global Center in Santiago and discussed the feasibility and details of their project with the local team.
