Dean Mary Boyce and Yaqin ZHANG meet Columbia Engineering alums and admitted students at the Beijing Center

At the end of March, Columbia Global Centers | Beijing welcomed Mary C. Boyce, Dean of Engineering at The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science, for a special trip to China to host a series of exclusive receptions for Columbia Engineering alumni and admitted students.

On March 30, Dean Boyce visited more than 140 new students, alumni, and parents in Shanghai and introduced the on-going research, student life, and the opportunities available to Columbia Engineering graduate students.

On March 31, Dean Boyce traveled to Beijing and hosted another reception at the Beijing Center. She was joined by Yaqin ZHANG, President of Baidu and Columbia Business School Senior Visiting Scholar 2018. Zhang shared his experiences working at Microsoft and Baidu and his insights on the future of AI. The Beijing reception attracted more than 170 attendees, with many parents and young alumni in the audience.
