Strengthening women’s participation in Chile’s clean energy transition and promoting their inclusion in leadership roles across companies, universities, government, and non-profit institutions were the key goals of a successful workshop organized by the Santiago Center in collaboration with the Chilean Renewable Energy Association (ACERA). Sponsored by the Ministry of Energy and supported by the United States Embassy, the event brought together leaders and experts from diverse sectors.
The workshop was inaugurated by Minister of Energy Andrés Rebolledo and featured an opening presentation by Columbia alumna Paula Estévez, Head of the International Department at the Ministry of Energy. Estévez highlighted Chile’s progress in renewable energy development and energy efficiency initiatives.
Britt Ide, one of 61 ambassadors of the Clean Energy, Education & Empowerment (C3E) initiative, a global partnership supported by eleven countries, spoke on advancing education, training, and action programs aimed at increasing the participation of professionals in the energy sector.
The event concluded with a dynamic panel discussion led by Carlos Finat, Executive Director of ACERA, and featured prominent women leaders in energy, including Marta Alonso, South America General Manager of Global Energy Services (GES); María Eliana Arntz, Executive Director of Casa de la Paz; Annie Dufey, Policy Leader for Energy and Climate at EBP Chile; Mónica Gazmuri, General Manager of ANESCO; and Ximena Muñoz, Founding Partner of Suli Chile.
