On April 5, Columbia Global Centers | Beijing and Columbia University Teachers College Alumni Association of China, Beijing jointly held the very first TC alumni gathering event of the season in 2017. Around 40 alumni attended the event along with ZHANG Ni, a TC alumna ’06 with a master degree in International Education Development and the founder of the Children’s Museum Research Center at Beijing Normal University China Philanthropic Research Institute, as the special guest to deliver a speech about education.

“I would like to thank everyone for coming to our very first event in 2017,” said Xuejiao Cindy LIN, Advisor of the Columbia University Teachers College Alumni Association of China. “We plan to organize a lot more interesting alumni event this year to offer TC alumni opportunities to connect with each other. And we welcome any suggestions and comments as well, so please come and talk to us more.”

“I was very happy to meet a lot of old friends, and we talked about what we had been doing and I received lots of new ideas and thoughts,” said LIANG Mudi (TC ’15). “Back in New York, we were doing a student group together. After graduation, we all have found a field that we are passionate about. For example Ni, she established a Children’s Museum literally from zero. I was very inspired. Thanks for inviting me, and I hope we will have more alumni gathering events in the future.”

The Teachers College Alumni Association of China (TCAAC) is an independent and volunteer-based organization organized by alumni and faculty of Teachers College living in the Greater China region. TCAAC is the only official association for TC alumni in China. We aim to partner with the Office of Alumni Relations at TC to offer TC Chinese alumni events and services that foster life-long engagement with the College.

In the meantime, the First Columbia University Teachers College Education Forum will be held in Beijing from July 14 to 15, 2017. Please stay tuned for more information.
