Columbia Global Centers | Amman will host the Global Nursing and Midwifery Clinical Research Development Initiative on July 18-19, 2016. Experts from approximately 22 countries in the Eastern Meditarranean region will meet to identify and reach consensus on gaps in knowledge and priorities to address critical health needs, and develop a dissemination of recommendations and implementation plan for support for nursing and midwifery research with a mentorship component.

The aim is to develop sustained networks to strengthen the advances in nursing and midwifery at the clinical and educational levels. The initiative is a President’s Global Innovation Fund project led by Elaine Larson, Anna C. Maxwell Professor of Nursing Research and Associate Dean for Research, and Jennifer Dohrn, Assistant Professor of Nursing at Columbia University Medical Center and Director of the Office of Global Initiatives and it’s WHO Collaborating Center for Advanced Practice Nursing.
