In the coming month of July, the Columbia Global Centers | Rio de Janeiro will receive researchers and professors from different departments of Columbia University, who study the broader area of Humanities.
Among the scholars are: Dr. Sharon Marcus, Dean of Humanities, Dr. José Moya, Director of the Institute of Latin American Studies, Dr. Barry Bergdoll, Professor at the Department of Art History and Archeology and Curator at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), Dr. Alexander Alberro, Professor of Art History and Department Chair at Barnard College and Graciela, Director of Graduate Studies at the Department of Latin American and Iberian Cultures.
The group is visiting Rio separately throughout the month of July, and will engage in a series of activities regarding their particular field of studies. In common, they will have the opportunity to visit the archives of the Moreira Salles Institute (IMS), the largest private-owned archive of photography, iconography and literature in Brazil. The group also has activities scheduled at the National Library, the Belas Artes Museum, the Institute of Technology and Society, Book Editors and more.
