Daniel Naujoks on SIPA's first global immersion course launched in Turkey

Daniel Naujoks, interim director of the International Organization and UN Studies specialization at the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) at Columbia University spoke from Istanbul about "Beyond the ‘Refugee Crisis’: Refugees in Turkey and Global Public Policy," the first global immersion course for Master of International Affairs students. Daniel and 20 students spent 10 days in Turkey in January 2020, convening at the Columbia Global Center in Istanbul for classes on refugee law and policy in Turkey and the world, multilateral cooperation, and how displacement-centered efforts link to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. They also meet with leaders of NGOs working on the refugee effort, including a trip to the southeastern city of Gaziantep.
