In a conversation with world news website Axios editor Dave Lawler, Jeffrey Sachs, renowned Columbia economist and expert on sustainable development, launched his latest book, “The Ages of Globalization.”
During the event, chaired by Safwan Masri, Executive Vice President for Global Centers and Global Development at Columbia University, Sachs proposed that taking a look at world history can help to shed light on how the challenges and opportunities of the twenty-first century can be met.
Since today’s most pressing problems are fundamentally global, they require concerted, planet-wide action in order to secure a long-term future, according to the author.
