Renowned Oil Painter Mr. Jian Wang Speaks about European Oil Paintings at the Beijing Center

On December 3, Columbia Global Centers | Beijing invited Mr. Jian Wang, a renowned oil painter and parent of Columbia University Columbia College's student, to introduce how to appreciate the European oil paintings from Italian Renaissance to Neoclassicism. In the meantime, Mr. Wang also delivered an introduction on his paintings to the audience.

Mr. Wang started from introducing the three great masters of Italian Renaissance, including Raffaello Santi, Michelangelo Buonarroti, and Da Vinci, their masterpieces, and their life stories. He then introduced the representative works along with the stories behind of several famous European painters, including Sandro Botticelli, Jan Van Eyck, Titian Vecellio, Caravaggio, Peter Paul Rubens, Rembrandt, Johannes Vermeer, Eugène Delacroix, Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres, Mary Cassatt, and Edgar Degas. 

The event was greatly supported by the parents group of Columbia University's undergraduate students. Around 70 people attended the event, and more than 75,000 people watched the event live through Beijing Center's live-streaming platform.
