The Columbia Global Centers | Middle East, Columbia Law School, and the American Society of International Law are holding a conference on the theme “International Legal Dialogue—Middle East North Africa” on December 14 - 15, 2015. This initiative is led by Lori Damrosch, Hamilton Fish Professor of International Law and Diplomacy at Columbia University and currently serving as President of the American Society of International Law.

There will be four panel sessions focused on the following topics: Arbitration in the Arab WorldEnvironmental Effects of  Armed ConflictChild Abduction and Child Protection: Private International Law Aspects; and Refugee Protection: International Law Affecting Women and Children.

The Conference aims to bring together local, regional and international perspectives from speakers whom will address all four topics within the Middle East and North Africa regional framework to maintain a timely and relevant discussion throughout.
