Second Alumni Social Gathering of the Year

November 20, 2017

In mid-November, the Columbia alumni community in Santiago met for the second time this year for a social gathering at the rooftop of Chile’s second tallest building, the Titanium La Portada skyscraper. During the event, a representative of the real estate developer that constructed the tower talked about the building's anti-seismic structure, which is designed to withstand Chile's earthquakes, and explained  how they undertook  the process to become first LEED certified office building in Chile (LEED, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a green building rating system.)  After the presentation, the group headed-up to the skyscraper's heliport, which has one of the most impressive views of Santiago. Then, the group walked to a nearby wine bar called Les Dix Vins to catch-up, socialize and discuss the different activities in which they are engaged in.
