From August 21-25, London 2012 sailing champion Lijia Xu and 50 other retired Olympic champions and athletes attended a personal development workshop that focuses on maximizing potential, improving talents, and enhancing employability skills.

This customized program, which is a collaborative effort between Columbia Global Centers | Beijing and Project Arena, covers a wide range of topics, including sports entrepreneurship, women's empowerment, theater-based training, and design thinking.

The weeklong workshop also gives athletes rare access to meet and talk with entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and academic scholars face-to-face — a chance to get inspired and gain tips for goal setting and development plans.

Four Columbia alumni joined the workshop to speak about women leadership and entrepreneurship in education, technology, sports, and fashion, including Zichun ZHAO SEAS '15, CEO of Koala Reading, Jing TI SEAS '15, Founder of Beijing Truelion Technology Company, Yuchen WU GS '19, vlogger and author of Chief Thomas, and Tianqi ZHUO SOA '17, an international film producer based in New York and Beijing.
