Youth Climate Leaders held a conference on August 1, 2018. This served as an immersion program for the professional training of young people from all over the world with the potential to apply for leadership positions in companies, governments or social organization.
The participating group received online and offline training, including classes, field trip and coaching. 500 applications from 95 countries had been received from the open call and from these, a group of 16 young people representing all continents were selected to participate in the immersion program that occurred in Paris in July 2019, followed by a month in Kenya (Nairobi and Meru). In addition, the program offered three months field placement and participation on COP24 as optional follow up activities.
Key partners in this project were the University of Nairobi and Strathmore University.
