The University of Jordan (UJ) President, Prof. Azmi Mahafzah received in his office on Tuesday an academic delegate from Columbia University (CU), New York, to discuss a joint academic project on refugees.

On August 23, Columbia University Teachers College held a meeting and happy hour event in Columbia Global Centers | Beijing, providing an opportunity for faculty and students from TC currently in Beijing as well as their local partners and friends to meet and network. 

The Symposium 2016 Beijing Summer Boot Camp held from August 8 to August 14 at the Experimental High School Attached to Beijing Normal University (ESBNU), organized by students from Columbia University and supported by Columbia Global Centers | Beijing. This year, the Symposium provided discussion sessions, workshop sessions and outing events in the past few days. More than 40 people were in attendance.

Beginning in June, 2016, the Mumbai Center partnered with the Mailman School of Public Health to introduce a practicum that enables graduate students to complete a planned, supervised and evaluated field experience in India. The Center reached out to multiple organizations to house four student interns. The three organizations that were selected include Society for Nutrition, Education, and Health Action (SNEHA), Khushi Baby in Udaipur, and Partners for Urban Knowledge, Action and Research (PUKAR).

On March 18, 2016, Beijing Center co-hosted a high-level roundtable conference on the Role of the State in Economic Growth, with the Center on Global Economic Governance (CGEG), the Columbia University Initiative for Policy Dialogue and Tsinghua University.

The Paris Center pursued several joint initiatives this spring on the theme of gender and agency.

On July 18th, representatives from Human Resources Departments of several public sector entities in Brazil came together to debate strategies for human resources management in public institutions with Professor Barbara Nunberg (Columbia/ SIPA) and Antoine Lusao (Director of Staff and Management at State Institute of Environment - INEA).
